If it encounters the three auspicious Doors (Opening, Rest, Life), it signifies a small person gaining a powerful backer, and requests for wealth, career, or connections will be met with positive responses, pleasing superiors. If it encounters inauspicious Doors (Death, Shock, Injury), one's efforts will be in vain, leading to wasted favors and time. When using this formation for divination, the first step is always to look at the Door: the Door sets the tone, and the formation defines the path. The path of this formation is reliance and dependence; one should not act alone but seek support, leverage platforms, and align with powerful figures. Note that if Wu Earth encounters Emptiness (空亡), the power one relies on is merely a facade, and even with an auspicious Door, one should beware of a hollow backer. If Ji Earth's palace is oppressed, the path of reliance will be arduous and require significantly more effort. The mode of success for this formation is clear: one is the dog, diligent in action; one meets the dragon, humble in posture. With an auspicious Door, superiors will be pleased, and promotion is likely; with an inauspicious Door, even running oneself ragged will yield no response, so it's better to remain still. Maintain a humble attitude and prioritize diligence.
Wealth comes from reliance: joining the right project or team can secure a share; starting one's own venture will lead to being isolated and weak. Wu (戊) represents great wealth, Ji (己) represents small earth. This formation suggests that seeking wealth is better by following than by leading. If Wu Earth encounters Emptiness, beware that the entity one relies on might be strong on the outside but weak within.
