Learn how BaZi patterns form, how to judge them, and how to apply them in practice — covering regular, follow, special dominant, hua qi, and jianlu/yueren patterns.

Pattern Priority Order

BaZi pattern selection follows the rule: special patterns first, regular patterns last. Judge in this order:

  1. 1Hua Qi Pattern
  2. 2Special Dominant
  3. 3Follow Pattern
  4. 4Jianlu / Yueren
  5. 5Eight Regular Patterns
Logic

Check hua qi first (stem five-combine with month support), then special dominant (extremely strong day master with element cluster), then follow patterns (extremely weak day master following strong momentum). Only when none apply, judge the eight regular patterns.
